My Team Message
You may have seen the BringChange2Mind commercial on television, or you may not have. If you have seen it and do not quite understand it, the idea is that among us, depending upon which statistics you hear, 1 in 4 adults suffer from a diagnosable mental illness that is seen as "crazy" in the eyes of the public. It is ever so important now more than ever that we try to take the horrible stigma attached to our diagnoses and stomp it out.
As the current campaign for BringChange2Mind points out, Abraham Lincoln had a mental illness. Would we have turned our backs on Abraham Lincoln today if he were still around? If you google "celebrities with mental illnesses" you will find that it goes way beyond Abraham Lincoln and some of the brightest minds that we look up to suffer currently with a mental illness. I am grateful for Glenn and her sister and the rest of the celebrities like Catherine Zeta Jones who are not afraid to step into the light and help us stomp out stigma a little at a time. With the BringChange2Mind team, we can bring our dream of making the talk about mental illness equal to the talk about cancer.
Please join me on this adventure and support team BringChange2Mind and our mission to stomp out stigma and leave no voice left unheard!
Thank you for your support.
